NEURODESIGNER, NEUROSCIENTIST, AND AUTHOR
Isabelle Sjövall is one of the world’s leading specialists in the field of neurodesign, with more than 15 years’ experience of advanced projects in architecture, design and the property industry. She passionate about health-promoting design and architecture based on science and the author of the much-discussed books Neurodesign (2016) and Designfulness (2020). It is her belief that, by using brain research and the right knowledge to make informed choices, we can build a better future and promote health, human sustainability and well-being in our homes, workplaces, schools, hospitals and cities. Isabelle’s interest in how we are affected by the environments we find ourselves in began as early as the age of four, when she started colour-coding her teddy bears and rearranging the furniture in her room. Since then, her curiosity to understand how we humans are influenced by design and architecture has only grown stronger. Today, she is a leading expert within her field and has optimised property with a total sales value of USD 1,4 billion and sits on several company boards, where her main focus is to promote health and quality of life. Having studied at the Stockholm School of Economics, Accademia Italiana in Florence and the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neu- roscience at King’s College London, Isabelle now works tirelessly with a view to spreading her knowledge of how informed architecture and design can help create a healthier and more sustainable life for us all.
